Mr Britain bodybuilder ran dodgy ‘chemist’ selling ‘incredibly dangerous’ steroids
A bodybuilder who found fame when he won a Mr Britain title turned himself into an unofficial “chemist” by selling “incredibly dangerous” anabolic steroids to friends.
Fitness fanatic Leon Levesley used the body-enhancing drugs to give himself a competitive advantage in contests but they could have caused “serious harm” to others if they were wrongly used, a court has heard.
Levesley, 39, of Forge Court, Thorngumbald, has been sentenced at Hull Crown Court after admitting two offences of possessing anabolic steroids with intent to supply.

The court was told he’d bought them in bulk to make a sideline profit for himself, and he had involved his girlfriend and her parents in his scheme, reports Hull Live.
But his plan unravelled when cops found stashes of the anabolic steroids at two addresses.
Clair Willie, 36, of Ottringham Road, Keyingham, denied possessing anabolic steroids with intent to supply but admitted being concerned in the matter.
David Godfrey, prosecuting, said police executed two drugs warrants – one at Forge Court, where the couple were living together at the time, and the other at the Ottringham Road address of Willie’s parents, which was being used as a “safe” house for anabolic steroids.
Large quantities of anabolic steroids in tablets and vials were found at both houses.
“Given the quantities, they were also plainly selling to other users in that fraternity,” said Mr Godfrey.
The prosecution claimed that the drugs were valued at £19,000 although defence lawyers claimed the true figure was between £5,500 and £7,500.
Levesley had given a “straight denial” about the matter during a police interview and Willie made no comment.
Recorder Peter Makepeace QC said: “The drugs were to be sold straight on to the public.”
He told Levesley: “You took them to give yourself a competitive advantage. You were supplying directly to others. What you have been doing is effectively turning yourself into a chemist.”
Levesley was deciding what he thought was a “wise quantity of steroids” for others to be taking but this was “incredibly dangerous” and there was “all the potential for causing serious harm”.
He was told that if he were ever convicted of another similar crime, there was no question he would be given an immediate prison sentence.
“You know that you are basically handing yourself into prison,” the recorder said.
Turning to Willie, he said it seemed she did not sell any drugs but was aware of what Levesley was doing, and that drugs were sent to the home of her parents.

“I take the view that you were led into this by your co-accused,” Recorder Makepeace said.
Levesley was ordered to carry out 150 hours’ unpaid work while Willie was given a six-month 10pm-6am curfew.
Levesley won at this year’s National Amateur Body-Builders’ Association 2022 finals, and said afterwards: “I’m absolutely buzzing. I was honestly not expecting this.”
Previously, the former partners competed in the British final of the International Bodybuilding and Fitness Association in 2017, with Levesley coming third in the Mr Class 1 category and Willie finishing second in the ladies’ toned figure category.
