Glam influencer sparks backlash with poll on whether to eat weed brownie before holiday

A glam influencer has come under fire after apparently trying to poll her followers on whether she should eat a marijuana brownie before flying to Bali.

Em Davies posed the Instagram Story question before quickly deleting it – but the Aussie wasn’t quick enough to avoid screenshots being taken and it going viral before being taken down.

Perth-based Em posted a picture of her and a pal, holding the brownie.

“Are we going to regret eating this weed brownie on our way to the airport?” the caption read, alongside a “Yes” or “No” poll.

And it was all recorded for posterity by watchdog Celeb Spellcheck, which captioned it “Em D(MA) & Lil Brownie”, reports News.com.au

Indonesia has a famously-tough outlook on drugs, and some of Celeb Spellcheck’s 239,000 followers were quick to share their views on Em’s comment.

Many pointed out that Schapelle Corby spent nine years in jail in Bali for smuggling marijuana into the tourist hotspot in a boogie board bag.

“Shapelle [sic] Corby is screaming,” one follower wrote, while someone said: “Lmao the biggest flog in the world I’m sure the Indonesian government would be less than impressed if they’re coming through after eating that.”

There was some speculation that Em – who has more than 350,000 followers – didn’t meant to share the Insta Story so publicly, which is why she took it down so quickly.

“Some things are best left off the internet. This was meant for Close Friends, surely?” one user said.

It’s not the first time Em has elicited such a reaction to one of her online posts.

Last year Celeb Spellcheck – again – shared a Snapchat screenshot that seemed to show her admitting to doing drugs prior to boarding a flight.

“Sickkkk don’t have my ID on me coz I did lines w it all weekend. Now can’t get on my flight bc it links to an international so have to wait four hours to get another one :),” said the text alongside what appeared to be a filtered image of the celeb.
