Rangers fans adamant PSV keeper ‘must’ve been watching De Gea’ after even worse howler
Rangers fans have joked that PSV keeper Walter Benitez must have been watching David de Gea after he committed a howler against the Scottish side.
Benitez handed the Gers a huge lifeline in their Champions League qualification clash with PSV when he failed to keep hold of the ball. Rangers’ Tom Lawrence stood over the free-kick, which initially seemed un-menacing to the PSV backline.
The error was similar to De Gea’s calamity against Brentford over the weekend. And Rangers fans have joked Benitez must have been tuned into United’s embarrassment at the hands of Brentford.

One fan joked on Twitter: “Must’ve been watching De Gea at the weekend!”
“De Gea would be proud of that howler by the PSV keeper. He is probably the only professional goalkeeper with over 10 years playing at the top who can have a comp of such fumbles,” a United fan added. While a third said: “Didn’t know De Gea had gone to PSV!”
A fourth added: “PSV keeper has been watching too much De Gea footage!”
