Pair of fans BANNED from Nationals Park for five years after heckling Cubs’ Willson Contreras
Two fans were handed a five-year ban from Nationals Park on Wednesday after apparently heckling Cubs catcher Willson Contreras.
Contreras became involved in a heated exchange with the fans during the 10th inning of an eventual 7-5 Cubs win on Wednesday night.
After the catcher drove in a run via sacrifice fly, he got into it with the fans, with at least one person in a white Nationals jersey being seen escorted out of the stadium in a video of the incident.
Willson Contreras called the remarks directed at him ‘not healthy’ after the game
Even after leaving the batter’s box, Contreras was still visibly upset and continued engaging in the argument from the dugout as his teammates tried to calm him down.
They even had to stop him from trying to take the argument further, holding his back from the fans.
He declined to get into the specifics of the conversation after the game, but made clear it was beyond the normal banter a player may expect from fans.

Contreras made clear after the game that he was none too pleased with the comments
‘I’m not going to say right now, but what he said, it got under my skin, even though he was a Latino guy,’ he told reporters.
‘We speak in the same language. I know what it means. If somebody tries to mess with my family, they’re going to [have to go through] me first. Whatever he said, it wasn’t healthy. It was not right.
