Queen’s granddaughter to attend Kate and William’s university after A-level success

Lady Louise Windsor is to attend the university where Kate Middleton and Prince William first met after receiving her A-level results today (August 18).

The Queen’s granddaughter, 18, will be studying English at St Andrews University and is set to start her degree course in September.

She follows in the footsteps of the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge who both attended the university in Fife, Scotland.

Kate studied History of Art whereas William chose Geography.

Louise is the elder child of Prince Edward and Sophie Wessex and attends a private school in Ascot.

Buckingham Palace have not revealed Louise’s results, but St Andrews is one of the UK’s most prestigious universities.

Standard entry grades are set at AAA and minimum entry grades for English are ABB.

A Palace spokesman said: “Having received her A-level results today, Lady Louise will start at St Andrews University in September to study English.”

This year English literature actually fell out of the top 10 most popular subjects at A-level for the first time ever.

It saw the biggest drop in candidates for a single subject, falling by 9.4% from 39,492 in 2021 to 35,791 this year.
