Aston Villa man Bertrand Traore is attracting interest from Istnabul Basaksehir

Aston Villa winger Bertrand Traore is attracting interest from Turkish side Istanbul Basaksehir.

Traore was limited to just nine Premier League appearances last season and is yet to feature for Steven Gerrard‘s side this campaign.

The 26-year-old could however soon be offered an escape route from Villa Park, with offers set to arrive from Turkey in the coming days.

Villa boss Steven Gerrard is still looking to make plenty of changes to his squad this window

Traore joined Villa from Lyon for £17million back in 2020, but has fallen out of favour in recent times after struggling with injury.

He’s scored a total of eight goals in 48 appearances for the club, a big knock on his 0.26 goals-per-game career record.

Villa would be willing to listen to offers for the winger, who may be just one of many players still yet to leave the club in the final weeks of the transfer window.

Gerrard has been keen to move fringe players on as he tries to reshape his squad for the current season.

Carney Chukwuemeka, Matt Target and Trezeguet are just some of the players to have departed so far, with plenty of interest still present in young forward Cameron Archer.

Gerrard is also keen to bring in a left-back to provide competition for Lucas Digne, as well as an athletic central midfielder.

If Traore were to join Basaksehir, he would link up with former Arsenal midfielder Mesut Ozil, who was named in a first-team squad for the first time since joining the club last night.
