Gabriel Jesus breaks fantasy football record that no Prem player has ever achieved

Arsenal forward Gabriel Jesus is the first ever Premier League player to be selected by at least 80% of fantasy football managers.

The Brazilian has been in electric form since his £45million move to the Gunners from Manchester City. Jesus opened his goalscoring account with two fine goals in Arsenal’s 4-2 victory over Leicester City in the Premier League.

His sharpness, ability to link play, and his predatory finishing skills have made him one of the ones to watch this season. And 80% of FPL managers agree, as they have all signed the new Gunners striker.

Going into the weekend, Jesus was also the highest scoring forward in the whole division. His two goals and two assists against Leicester, saw him overtake Erling Haaland in the points table.

Jesus was allowed to depart City when the Norwegian hitman completed his £52m move from Borussia Dortmund. But while Haaland has also hit the ground running with two goals in two appearances, many City fans may be wondering why Jesus was allowed to leave.

And if the popularity within the FLP community, the praise from ex-players and peers, and the trust of Arteta was not already enough, Brazilian legend Ronaldinho believes Jesus could instigate a shock title charge for Arsenal.

“When Gabriel joined Manchester City I said he would go on to be one of the best players in the world,” Ronaldinho said. “When he was given a chance, he showed what he was capable of – but at Manchester City he was never shown the love a player of his quality deserves.

“At Arsenal he has been given the chance to be the focal point. He has been shown the love by the coach and the fans, and already he is repaying that.

“This season I expect big things from him – he will repay the love shown in him by showing he is not just one of the best players in the Premier League but also in Europe. Arsenal will get back into the top four this season with the signings they have made – maybe they can even achieve more and challenge for the title.”
