Mikel Arteta says Arsenal stars ‘already singing’ new William Saliba chant together
Mikel Arteta has revealed the Arsenal dressing room was already singing the new William Saliba chant after their impressive 3-0 win over Bournemouth.
The Vitality Stadium was rocking to The Champs’ hit ‘Tequila’ with a slight lyric change to ‘Saliba’. And as Arsenal played the Cherries off the park, the new chant provided a backdrop for the clash.
Saliba’s performance wasn’t unnoticed by the Arsenal squad either, and the chant was quickly appointed by the Frenchman’s teammates. Speaking after the game, Arteta said: “The boys were already singing it in the dressing room [after the game today]. It is a good song.”

Saliba was at his brilliant best for the Gunners on Saturday evening – and he completed 100% of his passes in the first half leading Arsenal to a clean sheet in the process.
The Frenchman capped off a stunning performance with a curling effort with his weak foot that some Gunners fans labelled as ‘outrageous’. Oleksandr Zinchenko was left with his hands on his head as a result of the strike.
Arsenal moved to the top of the table as a result of the win, and alongside Manchester City are the only team to still be perfect.

Speaking on Sky Sports, Alan Smith said: “Saliba has been welcomed into the fold by the players and the fans. He would have gained a lot of confidence in France and especially making his debut for national team, when really he couldn’t find a place at his club.
“He’s come back, Arteta has shifted Ben White to right-back and we will see if that continues. Fair play to Arteta.”
