‘Victim’ Prince Harry wants to ‘shake off moaner image’ with new book

Prince Harry’s tell-all memoir, expected to hit shelves in November, has already sent shock waves through the palace even before its release.

The Duke of Sussex, who in 2020 stepped down as a senior royal to move to the US with wife Meghan Markle, hasn’t shied away from speaking his mind about the Royals in the past – especially during that Oprah interview – so it’s no surprise that royal officials are quaking at the prospect of more damaging allegations.

But a former aide of Princess Diana, Harry’s mum, has said he’s using the book is an opportunity to shake off his “moaner” image after he was made to feel like a “victim” in the media throughout his life, OK.co.uk reports.

Stewart Pearce, Diana’s former private voice and presence coach and author of the book Diana: The Voice of Change, said: “The reason why Harry is bringing forth a memoir is to correct a lot of erroneous stories about the nature of his life over the last 25 years since Diana’s death.

“[Harry] is pregnant with the conviction of honesty and with leverage of transparency.

“He felt that he was very much a victim as he tried to steer his way forward being the freedom fighter and liberationist that he is; particularly in relation to Meghan Markle.”

The royal author continued: “At the moment very few people seem to understand where he’s coming from, they just feel that he’s a moaner. And of course, he’s not, what he’s doing is he’s addressing the unseen.”

Pearce reiterated that he was sympathetic to Harry’s decision to publish the book, adding that his mother would have done the same.

“She would have written her autobiography full of all the many things she learned from her experiences within the Royal Family, and beyond.

“She would have waited until the moment was absolutely specific,” he added.

The news that Harry and Meghan were choosing to step down from their positions as senior royals in 2020 was groundbreaking and changed the way that the couple was perceived for good.

Since then the couple have distanced themselves from Harry’s royal relatives, moving to Montecito, California, and launching their own brand, Archewell, as well as signing lucrative deals with both Netflix and Spotify.

The couple most recently returned to the UK in June for the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee, a move which some experts believe made Harry rethink the contents of his memoir.

Expert Richard Kay said earlier this month: “There is still that possibility that the entreaties of the Royal Family have not fallen on deaf ears, and that Harry is having second thoughts about when he publishes this book at all.”
