Two boats collide on Nepean River near Jamisontown, Penrith

Ten people and a dog have been rescued after a two boats collided in a horror crash in western Sydney.

The two vessels collided on the Nepean River about 10kms upstream from a boat ramp at Jamisontown near Penrith around 1.30pm on Sunday.

One of the boats has since sunk. 

The group of 10 made their way to the shore before raising the alarm.

Police and paramedics are on scene.
