Roy Keane and Jurgen Klopp collide again with fans in stitches over ‘sloppy’ jibe
Roy Keane joked about his previous clash with Jurgen Klopp as the pair met again ahead of Manchester United‘s win over Liverpool.
Klopp was stood pitch-side with the Sky Sports presenting team as they previewed the Monday Night Football clash. The German coach admitted his Reds side had “played one very bad game” at the start of the season, at which point Keane saw his opportunity to strike.
The former United captain jokingly asked: “Have you been sloppy? A little bit sloppy, Jurgen?” Klopp burst out into laughter along with host David Jones and pundits Jamie Carragher and Gary Neville.

He then replied: “I would love to say it’s just because we have been sloppy.”
Keane was of course making a call-back to his comments about Liverpool after a match in September 2020. He’d described their performance as “sloppy”, despite them beating Arsenal 3-1.
After finding out about it, a furious Klopp said: “I’m not sure if I heard it right, but maybe he was speaking about another game as it can’t be this game.

“Sorry, that’s an incredible description of this game. This was absolutely exceptional. Nothing was sloppy, absolutely nothing.”
Klopp won’t have been in a better mood after Liverpool fell to a shock 2-1 defeat at Old Trafford. A late Mohamed Salah header proved to be a mere consolation as goals from Jadon Sancho and Marcus Rashford gave Erik ten Hag his first win in charge of United.
