Eddie Hearn shares his prediction for Tyson Fury’s proposed fight vs Oleksandr Usyk
Eddie Hearn believes Tyson Fury will come up short if he faces Oleksandr Usyk for the undisputed heavyweight title.
WBC champion Fury and WBA, IBF and WBO title holder Usyk now look set for a mammoth match up after the Ukrainian beat Anthony Joshua for a second time last weekend.
Usyk was superb as he outmanoeuvred the Watford warrior to claim a split decision and move closer to becoming undisputed champion at both cruiserweight and heavyweight.

But Fury stands in his way and is the betting favourite for that showdown should it happen. However, Hearn is backing the underdog and believes Usyk will remain unbeaten and become the first to hand Fury a loss.
“I would favour Oleksandr Usyk in that fight,” said Hearn when speaking on The DAZN Boxing Show.
“I just think he’s so good. They’re both very intelligent fighters. It’s actually not a very good fight to watch but it’s an intriguing fight to watch. Tyson Fury doesn’t want to fight Usyk, but he may have to because the money is so big.”

Meanwhile, Frank Warren believes Fury against Usyk will be boxing’s version of the football World Cup final.
The promoter of the Gypsy King is confident the clash for all four heavyweight titles will be made as both teams are keen for it to happen. Saudi Arabia are preparing an offer in the region of £127m ($150m) to host the undisputed clash, which would see both fighters pocket almost £60m each.
There are even claims Saudi could host the fight on December 17 – the night before football’s World Cup final in Qatar. Although, sources have indicated Saudi are keen to land the bout any time between December and February. While other nations such as the United Arab Emirates could also make a move. The fight is unlikely to take place in the UK with the money on offer abroad.
Warren told Daily Star Sport: “This fight is boxing’s World Cup final. It’s the flagship division and it is for the four belts so these guys want to be paid a hell of a lot of money.
“Tyson will go straight into it, if and when he’s ready. As will Usyk, he said after the fight it is the only fight he wants.”
Fury, 34, and 35-year-old Usyk are both undefeated as professionals. Warren confirmed to the Daily Star that the WBC have already been informed Fury is not giving up his WBC title after claiming he was retired last week.
Usyk will put the WBA, IBF and WBO heavyweight belts on the line making it the first undisputed fight in the division since Lennox Lewis held the title in 1999. Warren has no fears negotiations will be tricky after Usyk’s split decision win over Joshua.
But he will wait until Fury is ready to talk as the Gypsy King is currently mourning the loss of his 31-year-old cousin Rico Burton, who was stabbed and killed over the weekend on the outskirts of Manchester.
“It’s very difficult to talk to Tyson at the moment because of the death of his cousin which is understandable,” added Warren. “From my perspective, how easy is it to make? I think it’s a very easy fight because both camps want it.
“We both get along with each other. We have no problem doing that fight. The problem will be where is it going to take place.”
