Kamala Harris set to fly back from Hawaii TOMORROW after hiking and going to farmer’s markets
Kamala Harris is set to fly back tomorrow from her lavish Hawaiian vacation where she spent her days sauntering through a farmer’s market and going on hikes with her hubby as President Biden pushed through some of his biggest policy moves to date.
Vice President Harris and her husband Doug Emhoff have been on vacation since Aug. 15, one day before Biden signed the Inflation Reduction Act into law, and also missed Biden’s student loan cancellation announcement.
The Inflation Reduction Act is Biden’s long-awaited climate and healthcare spending bill, priced in at $437 billion with new taxes and $80 billion for a beefed-up IRS.
On Wednesday, Biden announced his administration would forgive $10,000 in federal student debt for those making under $125,000 and $20,000 for Pell Grant recipients making under $125,000.

‘Federal student loan debt has weighed heavily on our nation, preventing people from starting a family, buying a home, or starting a small business. Today, @POTUS announced our Administration will cancel $10,000 in federal student loan debt for millions of Americans,’ Harris wrote on Twitter of the move.
The Hawaii trip followed a brief weekend stint at the couple’s Brentwood, Calif. home after her last public engagement on Aug. 12, where she talked about the future of the U.S. space program.
The trip was unannounced before the VP landed in Kauai. She was seen walking through the Waipa Foundation Farmers Market and hiking Haena State Park.
The couple seem to have taken the trip over their eight-year wedding anniversary. Second Husband Emhoff posted a shot to Instagram celebrating their eight years on Monday.
Biden, too, has been out-of-office quite a bit this month. On Aug. 11 the Biden family traveled to Kiawah Island, South Carolina for a week-long beach trip, then flew to his Rehoboth beach home in Delaware before returning to the White House Wednesday morning to unleash the big student loan announcement.
