Everton stand firm on decision to keep winger Anthony Gordon despite huge £60m offer from Chelsea
Everton are standing firm on their decision to keep winger Anthony Gordon, despite Chelsea‘s £60million offer.
The 21-year-old has said he wants out of Goodison Park, and willing to say goodbye to his boyhood club in an ambitious move to further his young career.
But the Toffees are not changing their minds that easily, noting the offer made so far was below that of London rivals Tottenham, who were also keeen on Gordon’s services at one point.

Everton could be persuaded to offload the England Under-21 international if the right price is on the table, or if they are given decent offers of players in return.
At one point, it looked like Everton were keen on Chelsea’s Billy Gilmour, teaming him up again with current Toffees manager, and former Chelsea boss, Frank Lampard.
Ross Barkley was another name linked to Goodison Park, and not given a squad number at Chelsea for the 2022-23 campaign.

Gordon was one of the few positive aspects of last season, his first full season in the Premier League, as Everton narrowly avoided relegation.
However, the winger has scored just four goals, leading to concerns that Chelsea are spending big on a player who has not proven themselves at the top level yet, and will require a degree of nurturing in the years to come.
With less than a week until the transfer window shuts, it remains up in the air whether Everton will stand firm, or if Gordon will be sporting Chelsea blue for the rest of the campaign.
