Dejan Kulusevski already has more Premier League assists than £72m flop Nicolas Pepe

Dejan Kulusevski continues to shine since joining Tottenham from Juventus and has already laid on more assists than Arsenal’s record signing Nicolas Pepe in the Premier League – despite making only 22 appearances.

The 22-year-old forward has formed a formidable trio with Harry Kane and Son Heung-min, with Antonio Conte’s men pushing for silverware in his first full season at the club.

Across his 22 outings, the Sweden international has scored six goals while adding 10 assists to his career tally – with mega flop Pepe managing 16 goals but only nine assists from his 80 appearances before leaving on loan this summer.

Pepe cost the Gunners £72million following a fine spell with Lille in Ligue 1 – and will now try to reignite his career during a temporary spell at Nice.

Kulusevski, on the other hand, is looking to assist in ending Tottenham’s silverware drought having helped them back up to third in the table with an assist for Kane against Nottingham Forest.

Among those to have praised Kulusevski for his latest performance is Jamie Redknapp, who raved over his recent performances on Sky Sports.

He said: “Not many players come in in January and hit the ground running like he has.

“I think it maybe helped (Rodrigo) Bentancur coming in at the same time, and he’s been another good signing.”

Kulusevski is currently on a loan deal from Juventus, but Spurs have an option to buy that can come into effect from the end of the current campaign.

Redknapp added: “I think you have to certainly say that (Fabio) Paratici the Director of Football, has done a good job getting those players, he would have known them at Juventus.

“But I really like him, great balance, tall, athletic, he sees a pass, that front three is formidable, and they’ve also got Richarlison now who can come in and give you another option or variation.

“I’ve been so impressed with him, he looks like such a mature young man.”
