Sean Strickland shows off gruesome infected finger after ‘punching a dude’s TOOTH’

Sean Strickland has shared a video of his gruesome infected finger and revealed the injury was caused by a tooth.

The UFC middleweight was due to lock horns with Jared Cannonier in October but Dana White has now confirmed the injury scuppered those plans.

Strickland took to social media to update fans on the situation and display the deformed digit.

He said: ‘I punched a dude in the face right, it was consensual. I hit his tooth and now my finger has gone awful infected. Now I have to go and get it scrubbed out and get an antibiotic IV drip.’

Strickland then sent a further update from hospital, sharing the news that his infection was worse than first feared.

‘I don’t know what the f**k happened,’ said Strickland. ‘Camp was going really f***ing good. I had a hard spar on Thursday. I woke up on Friday and was like, ‘Hey, you know what? My finger is a little sore’ and then throughout the day, I was like my finger is f***ed.

‘So I went to the hospital and it turns out I have a really bad infection from a tooth. And yeah, they’re going to cut me open and drain it out.

‘I should’ve went to college you guys, I don’t f***ing know. I’m gonna be out for like three weeks though, so that’s f***ing life, right?’

Dana White then confirmed Strickland’s clash with Cannonier has been cancelled as a result.

‘We had matchmaking today and that was when I found out there was something wrong with him. I think we just scrapped the fight.’

Strickland had been hoping to bounce back from his KO defeat by Alex Pereira, while Cannonier was in the same boat having lost to Adesanya.
