Britney Spears’ father Jamie appeals judge’s ‘unfair’ deposition decision in conservator abuse case

Britney Spears’ estranged father Jamie Spears filed legal documents to the California Court of Appeals on Monday claiming the judge was unfair to demand he sit for a deposition and not his daughter.

The judge previously ruled on July 27 that the 40-year-old Grammy winner would not be disposed in the conservator abuse case, but the 70-year-old former building contractor could obtain written documents from her.

Britney’s attorney Mathew Rosengart had argued that a deposition would potentially re-traumatize her after he successfully helped end her 13-year conservatorship controlled by Jamie on November 12.

‘The right to take a deposition can rarely be denied,’ Jamie’s attorney Alex Weingarten argued in docs obtained by TMZ.

‘In California, discovery is a matter of right.’

The elder Spears believes if the younger Spears could submit answers in writing, so should he.

Rosengart told DailyMail.com on Monday: ‘The Court’s rulings were thoughtful, thorough, and correct. Rather than wasting additional time and money harassing his daughter through the discovery process, Mr. Spears would be better served if he accepted his losses and moved on.’
