Tyson Fury gives Anthony Joshua two days to sign contract or all-British battle is off

Tyson Fury has warned Anthony Joshua he has until Monday to sign the contract or their all-British battle is off.

The Gypsy King is growing frustrated waiting on Joshua to put pen to paper as the clock ticks down to their proposed December 3 date in Cardiff. WBC heavyweight champion Fury, 34, and his team sent contracts to AJ last Friday.

He said: “I was optimistic about three weeks ago but it shouldn’t be taking this long to sign a contract. “We will know by Monday anyway because if it is not done by Monday then I’m moving on.”

Fury has called out Joshua

Fury was sat ringside at Joe Joyce’s clash with Joseph Parker in Manchester on Saturday night when he made the demand.
Joshua’s promoter Eddie Hearn revealed earlier this week that there were some issues with the format contracts are in.

There has also yet to be agreement between BT Sport and streaming channel DAZN on how the pay-per-view would be broadcast and revenue split. Fury is signed with BT Sport while Joshua, 32, recently penned a $100m contract with DAZN.

But Fury has warned Joshua he has to accept his terms as he is giving the former WBA, IBF and WBO champion a chance to get back to the heavyweight top table. Joshua is coming off back-to-back defeats by Oleksandr Usyk which saw him relinquish his world titles.

AJ also lost to Andy Ruiz Jnr in 2019 and Fury feels his bitter rival should be grateful for the opportunity. Fury added: “I’m not waiting around for some guy who has lost three of his last five fights.

Joshua has now lost his last two fights

“He’s lucky that I’m giving him a world title shot but I don’t mind chucking him a bone, you know. But I don’t want them to start dictating shit to me.

“He is an invited guest at my party. My rules. So if you want to play the game, come to the banquet and take your seat.”

Usyk claimed this week that Fury is afraid to fight him and is chasing the Joshua fight to steer clear of him. But Fury hit back at the Ukrainian as he insisted he was ready to face him on December 17 in Saudi Arabia.

The Morecambe man said: “We offered them the December 17 date in Saudi Arabia for the undisputed heavyweight championship of the world and everybody wanted that date. Usyk said he was injured and isn’t ready until next year and now he’s saying I’m scared of him. “The little s***house middleweight. I’ll put my fist right through his face.”
