The Queen’s loyal corgis were in the room with Her Majesty as she died
Two of the late Queen’s corgis were by her side in her final hours, it has been revealed.
Beloved pets Muick and Sandy were ‘with her in the room’ as her life ebbed away on September 8 aged 96, Palace sources said.
The dogs touched people’s hearts when they appeared at Windsor Castle as the monarch was laid to rest at her funeral last Monday (September 19).

Muick, named after Loch Muick on the Balmoral estate and pronounced ‘Mick’, was given to the Queen as a pup by Prince Andrew along with another named Fergus.
When Fergus died three months later, Sandy was found to replace him with the help of the Queen’s granddaughter Princess Beatrice.
As well as Muick and Sandy the Queen also had a dorgi – a corgi and dachshund cross – called Candy.
Following the monarch’s death it was announced that the dogs would be cared for by Andrew and his ex-wife Sarah Ferguson, Duchess of York.
A source close to Prince Andrew told the BBC: “The corgis will return to live at Royal Lodge with the duke and duchess. It was the duchess who found the puppies which were gifted to Her Majesty by the duke.
“The duchess bonded with Her Majesty over dog walking and riding horses, and even after her divorce, she would continue her great friendship with Her Majesty, by walking the dogs in Frogmore and chatting.”
Several people took to Twitter to express their heartbreak when the dogs were pictured at Windsor Castle.
