While some are switching off their appliances instead of leaving them on standby to cut the costs, others are investing in this under £10 product.

Scouring the aisles of the supermarket giant, Brits stumbled across the cheap and cheerful item that can keep you nice and toasty.

Having been eyed up by cost cutting customers, the Easy Home Heated Airer only costs about 8p an hour to run – which means Brits can save on their heating bills.

Aldi shoppers can’t get enough of the £7.99 Special Buy

Taking to the Facebook group ‘Extreme Coupons and Bargaining UK’, the Aldi shopper shared a snap of the bargain clothes airer.

They said: “Aldi £7.99 bargain I think roughly 8p per hour to run.

“Much cheaper than my tumble dryer.”

It didn’t take long for the money saving post to rack up attention, with it now boasting 5,000 likes and thousands more comments.

However, some pointed out that the price of the airer is £39.99 online whereas cheaper in store.

Although, this did not shine the light away from the money saving hack.

Customers hope to slash their energy bills with the airer

One person commented: “I dry everything on this – all you need to do is not overload it and move the clothes around a bit. I dry jeans and towels and haven’t found it expensive to run.

“It even heats up the spare room when in use.”

Another user added: “Omg I want one and get rid of the tumble.”

While a third voiced: “We need this for winter.”

But, others felt that heated airers were “useless”.

One claimed: “I would stick to your tumble dryer. These heated racks are useless at drying the whole garment and it takes ages.”

Someone else argued: “It’s rubbish only drys the part of the clothes touching the bars. The rest stay damp.”

This shopper slammed: “They’re not very good only dry the bits that are on the bars and it leaves lines in your clothes.”
