Meghan Markle’s Spotify podcast to return after month hiatus following Queen’s death

Meghan Markle’s podcast is set for a return after being shelved for a month following the death of the Queen.

Following the monarch’s passing and the official mourning period, the Duchess of Sussex’s podcast, Archetypes, suspended its release schedule.

But the podcast is set for its return after a month of silence from the Sussex-branded product, with comedian and actor Margaret Cho set to appear on the next episode which is due to be released next Tuesday (October 4).

The podcast’s return coincides with a pledge of more consistent, weekly episodes from the Spotify-exclusive audio piece.

Three episodes of the podcast have been released so far, with guests including Serena Williams, Mariah Carey and most recently Mindy Kaling.

Following the passing of the Queen, Spotify shelved the podcast, with an announcement from the media company noting that no episodes would be released “during the official mourning period for Her Majesty”.

The official mourning period for the Royal Family ended on Monday (September 26), one week after the funeral of the 96-year-old Monarch.

Meghan Markle and husband Prince Harry were spotted several times over the mourning period in the UK, seen alongside Prince William and Kate Middleton on a public outing to greet mourners and well-wishers.

One royal expert reported by Daily Star believes that the Princess of Wales hoped to keep Meghan away from her during their visit to the UK.

Expert Sean Neil believed Kate was “terrified” and “wanted to keep Meghan away from her”.

It marked the reunion of the so-called “Fab Four” of Prince Harry, Prince William, Meghan Markle and Kate Middleton, whose temporary truce saw them meet members of the public at Windsor Castle.

Relations are said to be strained between the four, ever since Meghan and Harry left The Firm for America back in 2020.
