Tributes to Mail on Sunday’s Scott Gormley, 78, who ‘helped make Financial Mail best of its kind’
Scott Gormley, a senior production journalist on The Mail on Sunday for many years, has died aged 78 after a long illness.
Scott began his career on local newspapers in Shropshire before moving to the Daily Mirror.
He later worked on the Daily Mail, Daily Express and finally the MoS, where he became Chief Sub Editor before being promoted to Executive Production Editor and later Head of Production at the launch of Financial Mail on Sunday.

Personal Finance Editor Jeff Prestridge said last night: ‘Scott could grasp the heart of a financial story in seconds and bring it to life on the page through imaginative display and headlines.
‘His stellar production skills helped to make Financial Mail the best of its kind.’
Scott left the MoS in 2000 and retired to Shropshire, where he indulged his passion for golf.
He leaves his wife Tina and daughter Beth.
