Louis Vuitton sales jump 20% as wealthy shoppers continue to splash out on high fashion
French luxury giant LVMH has seen sales jump as wealthy shoppers continue to splash out on fashion.
The group behind Louis Vuitton, Hennessy cognac and Moet & Chandon champagne was also boosted by the easing of Covid restrictions in China, which is a key market for high-end goods.
Sales rose 19 per cent in the third quarter of 2022 to £17.2billion.

The group warned of an ‘uncertain outlook’, but is confident sales will grow at a similar rate for the rest of the year.
Its most recent results took sales for the first nine months of the year to £49.4billion, 28 per cent higher than the same time last year.
Its key fashion and leather goods business, which also includes Fendi and Christian Dior, had the quickest growth, at 31 per cent. Flagship brand Louis Vuitton also shone.
The wines and spirit business has also enjoyed rapid growth this year, helped by a ‘particularly strong’ performance in Europe, with sales up 23 per cent from the same time in 2021.
