Woman slammed for selling £13k engagement ring on Facebook instead of returning it
A woman has been blasted online for putting her £13,500 engagement ring up for sale on Facebook market palace instead of returning it.
The ex-bride-to-be saw her wedding day called off so she listed her one-carat diamond engagement ring from Tiffany’s for sale ‘for obvious reasons’.
The woman, who is based in Australia, listed the gem for $18,500 (£10,000), knocking the equivalent of £3,500 off since she briefly wore it.

But the listing has caused a stir online, with some slamming her for not returning the ring to her ex.
According to The Mirror, the woman wrote: “Selling this for obvious reasons. I do, now I don’t.

“Compare to current Tiffany pricing of a 1.0 Carat ring at $23,600, I am letting go of this beauty at $18,500. Condition is close to brand new – never worn much.
“Sorry, no receipt as I didn’t buy it obviously. Bank transfers only.”
Some users even warned that there may be legal complications involved if she sells the ring and pockets the dough.
One user wrote: “If he paid for it, it’s his and he should get all the money.”

And another said: “Legally you can’t sell this and have to give it back if you didn’t proceed with the marriage.”
But others disagreed, saying the woman was within her rights to sell the ring.
One said: “Not true – it’s considered a gift and it’s hers.”
Some users were concerned the sale might be a scam, as there was no receipt or certificate of authenticity with the ring.
