Miracle stray dog found ‘running between cars’ on motorway 10 years after going missing
Vets have launched a mission to reunite a miracle stray dog with their owners a decade on from when they first reported their pooch was missing.
The Staffordshire Bull Terrier was spotted “running in between cars” on a busy motorway and turned out to be 300 miles from her home in Cornwall.
After a rescue mission pulled the pooch from the M11 in Essex, a kindhearted person took the dog, Ruby, to the vet, where attending veterinarians found the dog had been microchipped.

No further details could help track down the owners on the microchip, with the dog yet to be claimed after it was rescued from its motorway sighting.

It is not known if the dog has been missing the entire time or whether Ruby was passed onto a new owner, but people are hoping to help reunite the owners with their pet.
A volunteer said: “We have been looking into this found dog situation and have been given details from the vets which have allowed us to cross reference missing or stolen dogs.
“Sadly, the details on the chip are not up to date, the phone numbers and the address are no longer working. This girl was/is called Ruby..”
Staff had left a message on the number associated with the chip, but received no reply.

Following a trip to the hospital after having “a lump that might need to be treated”, it would appear Ruby is set to spend some time in a kennel.
A spokesperson for Kews Vet said that Ruby would be sent off to a “dog warden” until her owners were found, noting that the kennel “doesn’t mean Ruby would be put down but rather she has somewhere to stay.”
But DogLost UK and a handful of volunteers are hopeful Ruby will have somewhere to stay soon, CornwallLive reported, with a dog listed as missing close to the area where Ruby was found, CornwallLive reported.
A statement from DogLost UK read: “Any help in tracking down this girl’s owners would be gratefully received.”
