Wolves ace Adama Traore is one of the fastest players in the world, and he showed off his speed recently by racing two young fans in a supermarket carpark in a video clip that’s gone viral.

The Spanish international made the youngsters’ day when he posed for a quick photo outside a Sainsbury’s in Wombourne, Staffordshire. But things improved for the lads when Traore agreed to a running race to ‘the blue car’.

The father of one of the youngsters, Darryl Smith, took to Twitter to share the clip – which now has more than 430,000 views.

Alongside the video clip, he posted: ‘When my lad & his cousins challenge Adama to a race!! What a down to earth top man!’ 

Traore doesn’t reach top speed in the footrace, but the youngsters are clearly having fun and can be heard shouting, ‘Yes Adama! Yes Adama!’ as they try to keep up with the 26-year-old star.

Traore’s actions were praised by many on social media – including Wolves supporters who are having a trying time this season.

‘With all the sh** that’s going on at the minute, this is the wholesome content you love to see Doesn’t take much to make someone’s year – brilliant from Adama. The pure joy in the kids voice – that’s the connection that’s sorely missing,’ said one Twitter user.

‘Fair play to Adama, what a great thing to do, that’s a memory right there,’ commented another.

‘This is pure joy. They’ll never forget this,’ said a third.

Traore (pictured) was named as the fastest footballer on the planet in FIFA 19, and has reached speeds of 22.12mph on the field. On the training field he has reportedly recorded a speed of 23.62mph

The Spanish international has recently returned  to the Wolves starting XI and netted his first EPL goal since January in the recent 2-1 loss to Crystal Palace.

He is expected to depart from the club next year after fruitless negotiations over a new contract.
