Boy, 11, dies of snakebite after his dad ‘ignores desperate pleas for help’

A dad whose 11-year-old son died from a snake bite has been charged with manslaughter.

Kerrod Frahm has been accused of failing to seek medical help for his son Tristian.

Police have accused him of refusing to take his son’s complaint seriously after he was bitten.

The father and son were visiting a friend in Murgon, Queensland, in November 2021 when Tristian pleaded for help after being bitten by a snake.

Following a 12-week investigation, Frahm was charged on Tuesday with causing his son’s death.

It is alleged that the father and son went to bed after Tristian told Frahm he had been bitten by a snake.

Tristian reportedly got out of bed during the night to be sick and his lifeless body was found outside the following morning.

Tristian’s devastated family paid tribute to their “little hero” after the shocking incident.

His aunt wrote: “I’m so beyond lost for words and the heartbreak is unimaginable.”

“I’m still in disbelief. I couldn’t be any luckier to have had a nephew like you.

“Thank you for making me an aunty. I love you more than I ever thought possible.

“I’m missing you more and more every minute. There’ll be a you-sized hole in my heart forever.”

Frahm is due to appear at Murgon Magistrates Court on December 6.

It comes after a lethal snake escaped from its home in a Swedish Zoo last week.

A snake escaped from a Swedish zoo

Skansen Zoo in Stockholm had been partially closed after Houdini – originally named Sir Hiss – had broken to freedom via a light fitting.

Staff had been using a variety of methods to track him – including using flour to capture the trails, stick traps and special hidden cameras . . . but they never found it.

Despite zoo officials claiming it was hiding in the roof, it appears that it did actually leave the grounds of the animal centre.
