Who’s going to pop a Christmas star on top of Britain’s tallest festive fir?

Tree-mendous! At 110ft tall and more than 1,800 energy-saving bulbs wrapped around it… who’s going to pop a Christmas star on top of Britain’s tallest festive fir?

As you’re struggling to reach the upper branches of your Christmas tree at home, spare a thought for the brave souls who’ve just finished decorating the UK’s tallest living one.

More than 1,800 energy-saving bulbs have been wrapped around the giant redwood, which stands at around 110ft.

The ‘tree team’ at Wakehurst house and gardens in Haywards Heath, West Sussex, have been carrying out final inspections of the towering evergreen before it is unveiled to the public on November 24.

The tree is part of Wakehurst’s Glow Wild winter lantern trail, which allows visitors to explore 11 light installations on the 500-acre site at dusk.
