Are you worried about the cost of Christmas this year?
It’s beginning to look a lot like a cut-price Christmas this year – as the cost-of-living continues to cause a lot of worry for families up and down the country.
The three-pronged attack of Covid-19, Brexit and the energy crisis – coupled with spiralling inflation and interest rates – has left many of us reeling.
And now a study by parenting website Mumsnet found that most families are more concerned about the cost of Christmas than they normally would be.
Its survey of more than a thousand users discovered two out of five are more likely to buy gifts that people actually need rather than want.
In stark contrast to last year, it also also showed a 31 per cent drop in the number of users who plan to donate to food banks over the Christmas period, with many saying they can no longer afford it.
After a year of misery for many, surely we all deserve a bit of festive cheer – but can we really afford it? What do you think?
