Queen was ‘devoted’ to Prince Harry after Megxit and ‘had no regrets’ in life

The Queen was said to have been “devoted” to Prince Harry following his and Meghan Markle’s departure from the Royal Family, a biographer has claimed.

It comes as claims over the relationship between the Queen and the Duke of Sussex following his departure from The Firm are aired by Gyles Brandreth.

The former politician asserted that the Queen had “truly wished” Prince Harry well in his new life after his time in the Royal Family, which came to an active end in 2020 when he and the Duchess of Sussex left for America.

Her Majesty is said to have “no regrets”, a conversation that the Queen held just weeks before the end of her life.

The Queen and Prince Harry are said to have enjoyed a ‘special relationship’ together

Brandreth, writing in his latest book, claimed: “The Queen was devoted to Harry. She loved him, she thought him ‘huge fun’, and she truly wished him well in his new life abroad.

“Whenever Harry called his grandmother from Montecito, he was always put through to Her Majesty immediately.”

Claims over the relationship between the Queen and Prince Harry come as royal expert Daniela Elser marked the final year of the Queen’s life as being marked by a “less-than-flattering hue”.

Her comment comes as Brandreth’s latest book alleges that the Queen had been suffering from cancer in the lead up to her death.

Despite stating that “Harry was on the other side of the world” at the time, it would appear that the Duke and Queen were in consistent contact with one another, Brandreth revealed.

Elser, writing for news.com.au, recalled a Today interview from Prince Harry that asserted the relationship he had with the Queen as a “really special relationship”.

He added at the time that the pair would “talk about things that she can’t talk about with anybody else.”

It appears that in the final weeks of her life, the Queen held a talk with The Right Reverend Dr Iain Greenshields, who told Brandreth the Queen “told me she had no regrets.”
