England fans take aim at Scotland in song to Wales fans during World Cup clash
England fans taunted Wales with ‘are you Scotland in disguise chants’ during their World Cup win over their neighbours.
Gareth Southgate’s side secured progression into the Round of 16 in style, with a dominant 3-0 win over their British neighbours. Marcus Rashford’s spectacular free-kick got the ball rolling, before Phil Foden doubled the lead less than a minute later.
Rashford then rounded off his performance with a deserved second goal, before the Three Lions clicked into game management mode. And the travelling England supporters taunted two fierce rivals with one single song in the stands as they revelled in victory.
They serenaded the Ahmed Bin Ali stadium with taunts of ‘are you Scotland in disguise’ throughout the dominant second half. As well as rubbing salt in Welsh wounds, they were able to make fun of their other familiar foes across the Scottish border.
The Scots missed out on World Cup qualification after being knocked out by Ukraine in the semi-final of the play-offs. Wales would go on to beat Ukraine in the play-off final, to secure World Cup qualification for the first time in 68 years.

Unfortunately, it just has not gone to plan for Robert Page’s side who struggled throughout the tournament. A hard fought 1-1 draw with the USA had put them into a good position, but a 2-0 defeat to Iran gave them an impossible task.
While the opening 45 minutes against England was arguably their best half of football of the whole tournament, Rashford and Foden hit them with a swift one-two barely six minutes into the competition to rip the contest away from them.
However, the mood is now significantly more jubilant in the England camp after they rediscovered their cutting edge in the second half. All optimism built from a dominant 6-2 victory against Iran was extinguished by an uneventful 0-0 draw against the United States.
Fortunately, the free-flowing and incisive football was back in action in a terrific second half against the Welsh. Africa Cup of Nations champions Senegal await the Three Lions on December 4 in what will be the first ever World Cup meeting between the two sides.
