Ian Wright branded ‘best hype man’ as reaction to England goal vs Wales caught on camera
Ian Wright was branded the ‘best hype man’ after his theatrics following England’s goal against Wales.
England put in a superb performance to defeat Wales 3-0 in the final group-stage clash which sent their British counterparts crashing out of the competition. Marcus Rashford scored a brace in the game either side of Phil Foden’s first-ever World Cup goal.
But it was Foden’s sumptuous effort that caused England legend Wright to jump from his seat and break into an energetic dance routine. An animated Wright was captured on camera jumping up and down as his hands furiously flapped around when Foden hit the net – to the delight of fans who crowned him the ‘best hype man.’

One fan said: “Uncle Ian always the biggest hype man.” Another supporter added: “I love Ian Wright, and I’m not even an Arsenal fan.”
And a third declared that Wright’s reaction embodied how every England fan was feeling, and said: “Wrightyy vibes, This is every England fan right now. Love to see it!” While a fourth supporter mused: “Excellent to see such passion for our national English team.”

Wright wasn’t the only Englishman who weren’t playing to put in a passionate performance for the Three Lions off the pitch. Chart-topper Chesney Hawkes belted out his smash hit smash hit ‘The One and Only’ at half-time during the match.
And although some fans were surprised by Hawkes’ performance, others insisted he was the driving force behind England’s second-half blitz against the Welsh. After finishing top of Group B, the runners-up in Group A – Senegal – await England in the knockout stages on Sunday.
And Gareth Southgate’s side will need to embody Wright and Hawkes’ passion to overcome the African nation. But England have a major advantage going into the clash as Senegal will be without talisman Sadio Mane for the game after the ex-Liverpool ace was ruled out of the World Cup with injury.
