Fans in hysterics as mic picks up Jude Bellingham swearing in strong Brummie accent
Jude Bellingham’s thick Brummie accent left fans in hysterics after a mic seemingly picked up the midfielder swearing during England’s win over Wales.
The dedicated 19-year-old rushed to intercept a Wales pass but missed the ball by a fraction, leading to his expletive-laden outburst. As the ball was sent back to Wales stopper Danny Ward, who was standing in for the suspended Wayne Hennessy, Bellingham was heard screaming: “Ahhh you f***ing c***!”
And fans were impressed to hear Bellingham’s Midlands accent was still intact despite his switch to German side Borussia Dortmund from Birmingham, where he made his bones as a youth star, in 2020. After hearing the audio of the Stourbridge native, one fan scoffed: “Listen to the brummie accent in its finest form from Bellingham here.”

However, the fan’s comment sparked a fierce debate with a deluge of other supporters insisting Bellingham’s dialect hailed from Stourbridge – not Birmingham. One fan interjected: “But he’s from Stourbridge in the Black Country, not Birmingham, so not a Brummie,” a sentiment that was echoed throughout the post – despite Stourbridge being just 12 miles from England’s second city and Bellingham going to school in Birmingham.
As the collective battled to claim Bellingham, a third fan attempted to end the dispute by suggesting the Three Lions star represents both Birmingham and Stourbridge. He added: “All the back and forth about Black Country or Brummie, he’s a mixture of both, it really doesn’t need to be such a debate.”

But one thing fans will agree on is Bellingham’s incredible impact at the World Cup thus far. He scored the Three Lions’ first goal of the tournament when they brushed past Iran, and has been a driving force in Gareth Southgate’s side in the group stages.
His fine form has only served to increase speculation about whether he could be set for a move to the Premier League.
Bellingham’s dominant performances have seen him compared to England legend Steven Gerrard, who he named as his favourite player growing up. And after his admission, Reds supporters pleaded with the Kop side to hand Bellingham Gerrard’s old No.8 shirt.
However, he’s unlikely to come cheap, with fans speculating he could cost as much as £200m.
