Boxing fans adamant Daniel Dubois fight was ‘fixed’ after crucial round ended early

Many boxing fans have described Daniel Dubois’ dramatic victory over Kevin Lerena as “fixed”.

Dubois successfully defended his WBA regular Heavyweight title on the undercard of Tyson Fury’s dominant performance over Derek Chisora. The British boxing ace was floored on three separate occasions in the first round and also looked to have injured his ankle.

However, Dubois managed to regather himself and produce a stunning comeback that saw him stop the South African fighter in the third round. But while ‘Dynamite’s display has been praised, boxing fans believe they have smelt a rat as the opening round was stopped around 12 seconds early.

Just as Dubois appeared to be at his most vulnerable of the evening, the referee called for the end of the round. However, the boxing world believes the referee stopped the round far too quickly, particularly when Dubois was wobbling.

“Am I the only one that seen the bell ring 12 seconds early on the 1st round of the Dubois fight?! This is rigged AF,” one fan wrote on social media.

Another commented: “Ring the bell 10 seconds early in round one with Dubois on the floor, boxing corruption knows no bounds.”
