Cristiano Ronaldo ‘demands £17m’ from Juventus and ‘calls in lawyers’ to sort payment

Cristiano Ronaldo has demanded Juventus pay him an outstanding £17million in waived wages following his exit from Manchester United last month.

Ronaldo agreed to mutually terminate his Red Devils contract following his bombshell interview with Piers Morgan last month, where he slammed United. And with the 37-year-old no longer on a wage, Ronaldo has demanded the Old Lady pay him the sum.

According to Italian-outlet Gazzetta dello Sport, Ronaldo and Juventus came to an agreement over the sum during the Covid pandemic. The deal was not made news to the public, nor was it reported in the stock market or the club’s balance sheet.

Juventus’ books have been in the news in Italy after their entire board resigned including president Andrea Agnelli, vice-president Pavel Nedved and managing director Maurizio Arrivabene.

Reports have suggested the mass resignation of Juve employees is linked to the board’s involvement in the Prisma investigation. The investigation reportedly involves 15 different people at Juventus – and it relates to alleged fraud accounting and market manipulation.

The Old Lady have denied any wrongdoing in the allegations levelled against the Italian champions.
