Winter Wonderland so full with ‘boozy louts’ that visitor brands it ‘the worst’

London’s Winter Wonderland is so “overcrowded” that visitors called it “the worst” due to “loutish behaviour” and “men falling on the children”.

Since 2007, Hyde Park has been transformed into what the event itself bills itself as “the world’s best destination for festive fun”, drawing in millions of families, couples and friends.

Much has been made of the expense of Winter Wonderland this year, with disappointed visitors complaining on TripAdvisor of splashing out hundreds on rides, food and drink.

Many have also posted about how much fun they had on their day out to the capital’s biggest Christmas attraction made up of massive funfair rides, shows and markets.

Visitors have accused Winter Wonderland of letting too many people in

Yet worryingly for anyone who likes their own space, the leading review website has been flooded with visitors furious at how many revellers were allowed through the gates.

One person described the place as a horror show on TripAdvisor

They wrote: “Visited Winter Wonderland this year. It was the worst experience of my life.

“Absolutely no sense in having pre paid tickets to enter or for rides. People without tickets were strolling past us queuing in the ticket line (queued for over an hour).

The attraction offers rides, refreshments, shows and a massive market

“On entry, any of the prepaid rides/attractions were not used (my daughter paid £170) as the queues were horrendous.”

They added: “People had no consideration for my young granddaughter in her pram. I will certainly never be attending this horror show again.”

Another visitor titled their review “Winter Blunderland” and described fellow punters as “alcohol fuel drunks and loutish behaviour”.

Winter Wonderland is open for visitors until January 3

A third recent comment on TripAdvisor called the place “The Worst”, having visited with their kids.

They wrote: “Absolutely awful dangerous overcrowded just pure greed, not for families with children at all would never recommend this to anyone, men falling on the children and the baby’s pram.

“Tickets for attending attractions with times slots utterly pointless. The worst £260 iv ever spent my daughters birthday was ruined with an overcrowded stressful day.

“Don’t waste your money on this over advised event nothing winter wonderland about it horrible experience.”

Someone else said: “Would have been lovely if they didn’t completely oversell tickets! I understand it’ll always be busy, its London at Christmas time!

“However to the extent where they need to continuously close and reopen attractions as the queues are too long is a bit much.

Winter Wonderland continues to be popular with celebs

“We could barely walk it was so crowded, constantly just squeezing through gaps the entire time. I’ve been in previous years and enjoyed it but its getting worse and worse each year… save your money and time.”

On its website, Winter Wonderland advises families to visit in quieter times at the beginning of the day.

It states: “Mornings are great for families, where you can enjoy Winter Wonderland at a leisurely pace. When the evening comes around, Hyde Park is transformed by thousands of sparkling lights so grab your mulled wine, hot chocolate or stein of Bavarian beer and get ready to join in the festive fun!”
