Bloke ‘ran and jumped on baby being pushed in pram’ with cops appealing for info

A man leaped on top of a baby being pushed in a pram during a “very worrying” incident at midday at the weekend as police appeal for information about the attack.

North Wales Police said the “odd” incident happened while a woman pushed her young child in Wrexham in a pram.

Officers said the man appeared to be “intoxicated” before jumping on the buggy containing the young child.

Police said the incident happened at around 11.30am on Saturday, December 11.

They are now asking anyone who may have seen the incident, or who has any information, to come forward to help with the force’s inquiries.

A spokesman said: “We had a very worrying/odd incident where a mother was walking with a young baby in a pram.

“She states an unknown male has run towards her, he was acting as though intoxicated and has then jumped onto the pram on top of the baby.

“A member of the public has removed him and the lady checked the child who was unharmed, but the pram damaged. Did you see anything?”

Anyone who witnessed the incident or has any information is urged to contact North Wales Police quoting reference number B185120.

Elsewhere, the group of three boys who tragically died after falling through an iced over lake and suffering cardiac arrests were warned about going in by passers-by.

The young lads aged 11, 10 and eight were pulled out of the icy water of Babbs Mill Park in Solihull, West Midlands, and taken to hospital on Sunday.

One of them has been named as Jack Johnson, 10. Another was named locally in floral tributes as 11-year-old Thomas.
