A murder suspect appeared to have run out of patience while he waited for police to administer a physical exam and fled from the medical examiner’s building in northeastern Brazil.
Video footage released Thursday by the police in the coastal city of town of Maceió showed Alisson Conceiçao in a holding room with his hands in handcuffs moments before his brazen escape on December 8.
Conceiçao, who was arrested for drug trafficking and allegedly killing Wikisson da Silva, could be seen pacing inside the room by himself.
The surveillance camera later showed the shirtless and barefooted suspect sitting on a bench and fidgeting with his hands to lose the handcuffs.
Alisson Conceiçao fled from a medical examiner’s holding room in the Brazilian city of Maceió on December 8. Conceiçao then stood in the middle of the room and continued to move his hands, eventually managing to slide his left hand out of the handcuffs.
He turned around and seemed to look towards the wall.
Moments later a second security camera stationed on the side of the building showed him hoping over a fence while residents in the background enjoyed a sunny day at the park.
He then made a dash across a patch of dirt and disappeared from the camera’s view.

Conceiçao had previously confessed to another murder and was convicted for theft, according to Brazilian news outlet G1.
He remained at large as of Monday afternoon and police hoped that the video will lead to his recapture.
‘We ask residents, if they have any information, to help locate him, to keep in touch (by calling 911). The secrecy of the source is safeguarded,’ police chief Fábio Costa said.
