A second-division basketball postgame handshake line ended in a wild brawl between fans and both teams in Puerto Rico on Wednesday night.

Players from the Salinas Dolphins and Adjuntas Suns were lining up to shake hands seconds after the final buzzer when Adjuntas’ Javier Torres punched one of the Salinas players in the face.

Footage of the melee showed Torres standing behind one of his teammates waiting in line to shake hands after Adjuntas defeated Salinas 84-79 in overtime at the Rafael Llul Coliseum.

Two Salinas players who were wearing their warmup shirts and not on the floor when the game ended walked to the front of the line and approached Torres.

It appeared as if quick words were exchanged right before Torres landed a right hand on the Salinas player and sent him to the ground.

Torres was led away by one of his teammates while another attempted to play peacemaker as Salinas players tried to hold back the attacked player from rushing after Torres.

The brawl worsened when the player who was punched by Torres ran away from his teammates and rushed towards a Suns player and was knocked to the ground.

Fans could be seen rushing the court as players from both teams exchanged blows.
