Beautician creeped on by Morrisons delivery driver perv ‘offered just £30 by supermarket’

A beautician who was contacted by a creepy Morrisons delivery driver has been offered £30 as an apology.

Molly, 28, was tracked down and contacted on social media by a Morrison’s delivery driver only hours after he delivered her shopping to her door, as revealed by BirminghamLive.

The man also liked many of her Instagram posts, until she blocked him.

The supermarket has now apologised to Molly, however she says that her concerns were not initially taken seriously and took months to investigate.

Molly, from Birmingham, also complained to Ocado, who deliver for Morrisons.

Molly said the man was initially pleasant and said “thanks for shopping with us” before things got weird

She said: “After they initially said they’d investigate, I didn’t hear anything back whatsoever. Not one call or email.

“They only apologised and offered a £30 voucher after BirminghamLive contacted them again. It’s just added insult to injury.”

In an email to Molly, Morrisons apologised for the incident, saying “This should not have happened and I appreciate that this will have been upsetting for you.”

Morrison’s say the man has been dealt with internally, but said they could not reveal the outcome as it would breach data protection

The company added: “Of course whilst he may be an Ocado employee he is representing the Morrisons brand when delivering in one of our vans and we would like to reassure you that this has been taken very seriously.

“Ocado has assured us that they have taken appropriate action in relation to the driver.”

Molly said: “When he delivered the shopping he was pleasant, absolutely fine and said thanks for shopping with us. He brought the shopping up to my flat and I said ‘thank you’.

Molly was given £30 as part of the apology

Yet six hours later the driver had tracked her down on Facebook and sent her a personal message and had been scrolling through her instagram account.

“He delivered the shopping to me and then later looked up my name on social media and tried to message me.

“He just said ‘Hi’ then started liking photographs of me on my Facebook page, which to me insinuates something else.

“It’s obviously a massive data breach.

“I live on my own, I’m a young lady. It is really scary.”

It is not clear what action has been taken on the man.

Morrisons told BirminghamLive: “We are unable to comment on the outcome of this investigation due to GDPR but would like to again offer assurances that this incident has been taken seriously.”
