Fans think Emiliano Martinez ‘has four toes’ in Argentina star’s World Cup tattoo pic

Football fans have been debating whether Argentina and Aston Villa goalkeeper Emiliano Martinez “only has four toes” on his right foot.

The World Cup winner recently got a tattoo of the iconic trophy on the very leg he used to save Randal Kolo Muani’s 126th minute effort. Martinez could not wait to show off his new tattoo and almost immediately uploaded a proud photograph of his new piece of artwork.

However, while fans were taking in his tattoo, their attention was suddenly diverted to the former Arsenal star’s toes. It’s safe to say, Martinez’s feet may have caught them on guard.

Only four toes are visible in Martinez’s post on Instagram. The shot-stopper was wearing a pair of sliders at the time of the photograph.

And while it is entirely plausible that the little toe was not in plain sight, some fans are convinced he only has four toes. “Is it just me or am I seeing four toes only,” one fan commented on Martinez’s post.

“Anyone going to ignore that Martinez only has four toes?” another fan wrote on his post, before another added, “What happened to his toes?”

Martinez’s foot has been a topic of debate on social media

However, not everybody is convinced Martinez is missing one of his digits on his feet. “Use your brain, where could the fifth potentially be?” one bemused fan wrote on social media.

Martinez was not included in Aston Villa’s squad that lost 3-1 to Liverpool. He has recently been linked with a move to Bayern Munich, after Germany legend Manuel Neuer broke his leg while skiing.

However, Villa boss Unai Emery appeared to dispel those rumours by confirming Martinez would return to full training this week. Whether he is deemed ready to face Tottenham Hotspur on New Year’s Day remains to be seen.
