BREAKING Prince Harry admits he took cocaine aged just 17 but claims ‘it wasn’t very fun’

Prince Harry has admitted to taking cocaine as a teenager in his bombshell memoir Spare.

The Duke of Sussex explains that he was “offered a line” for the first time aged 17 during a hunting trip, but said it “wasn’t very fun”.

It is the first time Harry has publicly spoken about taking drugs which he says was motivated by the opportunity to ‘alter the pre-established order’.

Sky News reports that he makes the admission on pages 112 and 113 of the already controversial Spare which is due for UK release next Tuesday.

Prince Harry says he was 17 when he tried cocaine for the first time

He writes: “Of course I had been taking cocaine at that time. At someone’s house, during a hunting weekend, I was offered a line, and since then I had consumed some more.

“It wasn’t very fun, and it didn’t make me feel especially happy as seemed to happen to others, but it did make me feel different, and that was my main objective. To feel. To be different.”

Harry hoped the drug would make him feel ‘different’

Harry continues: “I was a seventeen-year-old willing to try almost anything that would alter the pre-established order.

“At least, that’s what I was trying to convince myself of.

“At that time, I was as capable of lying to myself as I had lied to that staff member.”

The revelation is one of many expected to come from Spare
