Ryanair brutally mock under-pressure Chelsea boss Graham Potter after miserable run

The Ryanair social media team brutally mocked under-pressure Chelsea boss Graham Potter.

The Blues’ manager will be able to sleep a little easier after the west Londoners overcame Crystal Palace 1-0 on Sunday. Kai Havertz’s second half header was enough to secure Chelsea’s second Premier League victory in ten matches.

While Potter’s side are still anchored to tenth position, the Blues’ boss will at least be able to relax, knowing his side still remember how to win. However, the level of stress and frustration he was experiencing at the Blues was evident over the course of the last few weeks.

Football fans on social media were pointing to a photograph of Potter that was taken during Chelsea’s 2-1 away defeat to Fulham on January 12. Supporters thought the job was taking a physical toll on the former Brighton and Hove Albion manager, who at times looked extremely tired and devoid of ideas on the sidelines.

But while some may feel a tad of sympathy for the Chelsea boss, Ryanair saw an opportunity to laugh at his expense. The airline retweeted a photoshopped picture of Potter with large tired bags under his eyes.

“We’d need to charge Potter for those bags,” Ryaniar wrote in a tweet. At the time of writing, their cheeky dig at the 47-year-old has been viewed 1.7million times since it was posted on January 14.

Things could be about to turn around for Potter with the £88m signing of Mykhalo Mudryk from Shakhtar Donestk. He can also take pride in the fact January signing Benoit Badiashile was also able to keep a clean sheet in what was his full Chelsea debut at Stamford Bridge.

Potter finally had something to celebrate at Stamford Bridge

“Today we are happy for the three points,” Potter said to BBC Sport after the match. “Overall we played quite well, they had their moments as well but today was about getting the victory – park it as three valuable points against a team that was pushing as well.

“We try to play well and I thought at times we did, you have to understand the context of the situation we are in so it isn’t going to be sensational football all the time. The boys have worked hard.”
