Man Utd fans ‘devastated’ as Casemiro’s ugly tackle leaves him suspended for Arsenal game

Casemiro has been ruled out of Manchester United’s top-of-the-table clash with Arsenal on Sunday, leaving fans on social media absolutely devastated.

The Brazilian midfielder, who has been arguably the Red Devils’ best player since the World Cup break, picked up a yellow card following an ugly lunge at Wilfried Zaha in the dying minutes of United’s 1-1 draw with Crystal Palace on Wednesday night

The booking was Casemiro’s fifth of the season, which means he’ll now serve an automatic one-match suspension, leaving United supporters cursing their luck at the timing.

“Casemiro you clown,” tweeted on frustrated fan. “That’s the most devastated I’ve been about a yellow card,” commented another. “Can’t believe he’s missing Arsenal. Of all games,” wrote a third.

A fourth raged at Bruno Fernandes, blaming him for losing possession moments earlier, while a fifth suggested that the Casemiro/Thomas Partey debate would have to be put “on ice”.

Speaking after the game, United manager Erik ten Hag played down Casemiro’s importance, insisting his team didn’t need the former Real Madrid man to beat Arsenal.
