‘Resigned’ Everton fans fume at Frank Lampard and Goodison board amid fresh protests

David Moyes’ West Ham delivered another hammer blow to Everton and Frank Lampard with a 2-0 victory at the London Stadium.

The result, courtesy of a Jarrod Bowen brace, left Lampard’s side second-bottom of the Premier League table, leaving fans fuming at both the manager and the club’s board. Some displayed protest banners slamming the club’s owners from the away end.

The defeat to West Ham has heaped even more pressure on Lampard, with calls for the Chelsea legend to be sacked growing louder and louder. Many supporters are already resigned to relegation to the Championship and fear the Goodison club won’t be back in the top-flight for some time.

“Make some subs! Change the formation! Do something!,” raged one fan before the end of the game.

Another said: “Results won’t change until the manager changes. Wanted him to succeed, but he’s clearly out of his depth.”

A third added: “Frank Lampard has to get the sack surely.”

One supporter posted: “That’s it. That is the end of Everton’s time in the top league. Totally resigned to it now.”

Bowen scored twice for West Ham against Everton

“I wouldn’t be surprised if Frank walks away tonight,” said another.

One fan, presumably not an Everton supporter, suggested ambitious National League side Wrexham would make the Premier League before the Toffees return to it. They said: “Everton not going back to Premier League before Wrexham.”

One Toffees follower pleaded for the club to do some transfer business, fuming: “3 weeks into a massively important transfer window and not 1 player in!!! Absolutely criminal!!”
