Arsenal target Moises Caicedo confirms he wants to leave Brighton in Instagram plea

Brighton & Hove Albion star Moises Caicedo has confirmed that he wants to leave the club in a shock post on Instagram.

Caicedo is the subject of interest from Premier League leaders Arsenal who had a £60million bid for him rejected on Friday.

Late on Friday night he posted an image of Brighton’s badge on Instagram alongside the following statement: “I am grateful to Mr. Bloom and Brighton for giving me the chance to come to the Premier League and I feel I have always done my best for them. I always play football with a smile and with heart.

“I am the youngest of 10 siblings from a poor upbringing in Santa Domingo in Ecuador. My dream always to be the most decorated player in the history of Ecuador.

“I am proud to be able to bring in a record transfer fee for Brighton which would allow them to reinvest it and help the club continue to be successful.

“The fans have taken me into their hearts and they will always be in my heart so I hope they can understand why I want to take up this magnificent opportunity.”

Who should Moises Caicedo join this month? Let us know in the comments section below.

Moises Caicedo is the subject of strong interest from Arsenal

Caicedo joined the Seagulls from Independiente del Valle in his native Ecuador back in 2021 and has become a key man for the club since returning from a loan spell in Belgium last year.

His performances in the Premier League this season and at the World Cup have seen several clubs target a move for the 21-year-old midfielder in January.

Chelsea, Liverpool, Newcastle United and Manchester United have all been linked with Caicedo this month, in addition to Arsenal, although Brighton remain keen to keep hold of him for now.

Arsenal fans were quick to react to Caicedo’s message, with one tweeting: “Moises Caicedo is on his knees begging for the Arsenal transfer. Massive club.” Another added: “Let Caicedo come to Arsenal. He’s made his mind up.”
