Sean Dyche ‘rattling’ Jurgen Klopp video resurfaces as ex-Burnley boss set for Everton

A video of Sean Dyche rattling Liverpool counterpart Jurgen Klopp has resurfaced as the ex-Burnley boss looks set to become Everton’s new manager.

Dyche and Marcelo Bielsa were the two favourites for the vacant Everton post following the sacking of Frank Lampard. But now Dyche is poised to land the role after Bielsa rejected the position following talks with the Toffees’ hierarchy on Friday morning.

Bielsa had reservations about taking the job as he feared Everton’s team lacked the pace to adapt to his playing style, and his decision to stay away from Goodison Park has paved the way for Dyche to take the reins at the club. It will be Dyche’s first role since getting sacked by Burnley last April, and one of his first matches will be against Everton’s bitter rivals Liverpool on February 13.

The Liverpool fans will ensure Dyche is given a baptism of fire at Anfield, but Dyche will be prepared for the hostile environment if his spat with Klopp a few years ago is anything to go by. Dyche led the Clarets to a 1-0 victory over the Reds on Merseyside, and during the match, he was embroiled in a bitter spat with Klopp.

Klopp chased Dyche down the tunnel and hurled a barrage of fury-laden words in his counterpart’s direction

But Dyche gave Klopp as good as he got in the heated exchange

Liverpool and Burnley’s players clashed due to a contentious VAR decision before the half-time whistle, and the row spilled off the pitch when Klopp angrily chased Dyche down the tunnel whilst screaming at his counterpart. But Dyche gave as good as he got and unleashed a tirade at the German who was rapidly encroaching into his personal space.

At one point, it appeared that things were about to get physical between the bickering pair, but Dyche descended down the tunnel while Klopp continued to scream at him trying to get his point across.

Dyche’s response delighted fans who took to Twitter to praise him for standing up to Klopp. One fan mused: “Ah the he rattled Klopp trophy… congrats hahaha.” A second user scoffed: “Okay his stocks just gone up 10% in my books.”

And a third fan added: “Things you love to see!”. Klopp’s known to have a fiery temper and he also clashed with Dyche’s Toffees predecessor Lampard when the England legend was Chelsea manager in 2020.
