Yorkshire PC suspended over ‘fling with senior officer’ now ‘probed over affair with drugs kingpin’

Rookie police officer who was suspended at age 21 over ‘fling with senior officer’ is now ‘being probed over affair with drugs kingpin’

A junior police officer who was suspended from duty after an alleged improper relationship with a married police chief is now reportedly being investigated over an alleged affair with a drugs boss.

PC Caitlin Howarth, then-aged 21, was suspended from West Yorkshire Police in November 2021 after being accused of having an affair with her commanding officer Chief Superintendent Daniel Greenwood, who was 38 at the time.

However, their alleged relationship reportedly only came to light following an investigation by anti-corruption police officers over her links with a drug kingpin who is now behind bars for supplying heroin.

PC Howarth, a probationary officer, is still suspended from duty while West Yorkshire Police’s Professional Standards Directorate continue to investigate the claims.
