First pictures of Jorginho at Arsenal leaked and confirm his new shirt number

Images have been leaked of Jorginho wearing an Arsenal shirt for the first time as he looks set to complete his switch before the 11pm deadline.

The Italian emerged as a late target for Arsenal – after they saw their constant moves for Moises Caicedo rebuffed. Caicedo had publically asked to be sold, but Brighton held firm to keep their man.

And Arsenal have now agreed to sign Jorgonho for £12million from Chelsea, where he was out of contract in the summer and would have been free to leave. The leaked images have also revealed Jorginho will wear the No.20 in north London.

The Italian had worn No.5 at Stamford Bridge, but Thomas Partey had already claimed that number at Arsenal.

Jorginho has also previously worn No.19 at Hellas Verona and then No.8 at Napoli. However, both those numbers were taken at Arsenal, with Martin Odegaard claiming the No.8 shirt and No.19 being taken by Leandro Trossard earlier this month.

Jorginho has never worn the number internationally either, where he tends to opt for No.5.
