Roy Keane to star in new TV series alongside Gary Neville and Jamie Carragher

Roy Keane has been signed up to join fellow Sky Sports pundits Gary Neville and Jamie Carragher on The Overlap On Tour – with visits planned to UK and Ireland tourist attraction.

The trio have featured on the sit-down show in the past with Neville also doing solo interviews with the likes of Harry Kane and Paul Scholes.

With Keane and Micah Richards joining Neville during the World Cup in Qatar, a new Sky Max series will push the boat out with visits to attractions accompanying the planned fan debates.

As reported by The Sun, Neville said: “With Roy Keane and Jamie Carragher for company, we’ve got great live events lined up for London, Liverpool, Manchester and Dublin.”

Also booked in for the trio are Overlap Live shows with his former team-mate and rival, with events in Liverpool, London, Manchester and Dublin.

The TV show is set to follow those events around the UK and Ireland, with the grumpy Keane and excitable Neville and Carragher guaranteed to create good content.

Gary Neville and Jamie Carragher are also Overlap regulars

Keane has notably warmed up in recent years thanks to his role on both Sky Sports and ITV Sport, recently getting a big laugh out of his colleagues.

After watching a Pep Guardiola interview in which he didn’t look too happy, Keane said with a big grin: “I think Pep should smile a bit more – and that’s coming from me!”

Mark Pougatch and Ian Wright were left in fits of laughter, as were fans on social media with Keane far more popular than he once was.

Despite interviewing for the Sunderland job last year, the 51-year-old doesn’t seem keen to get back into the dugout in 2023.

Speaking to Sportbible last year, he said: “I almost feel like them days are over for me now, I don’t think I can go back into management.

“I am 50 now, I am doing TV, I am almost a pundit now. I feel like I’m getting my head round it that (punditry) is the role for me because I don’t think a club could give me a really good opportunity to get back into it.”
